Liberation ~ FAIL, Maybe Not

Allllllllrrrrrrighty then! We get there and everyone is super nice. We get checked in and don't even have to show insurance cards or licenses or promise our first born child as a form of payment. Smooth . . .

Seeing my infamous hobble walk I was promptly offered a wheelchair and pushed a new waiting area via elevator. My very kind chaueffer also pointed out potential areas of interest during our jaunt. "The cafeteria is just to your left and the bathrooms up ahead to the right," she explained. "And hon, there'll be a little bump here," she warned as the terrain changed to carpet.

We sat just long enough for me to call my mom and direct Jason as to when he needed to call her back with updates. I knew it was just killing her not being there. It's okay, Mom, I above all others understand. There is sooo much stuff I wanna do too, that I can't. Maybe when I get myself back on track again I can help you with you.

Just as we'd began complimenting the comfortable new rocking chairs they called for me. "Angela?" And back I went, to my dismay, alone already?! First weight, height, and blood pressure followed by instructions on how to get in a hospital gown. I hadn't been a hospital resident in over 2 years now so I politely listened to directions as a refresher course. Back in the day I could put one of them jobbies on blind-folded with one hand tied behind my back.

Next, as nurse after nurse searched for a vein willing to allow an IV drip, I took part in a question answer session. Yes. Yes. No. Yes. It took five nurses to find one. The entire time they searched I kept thinking to myself, "Ha! Suckas! Just try and tell me I don't have a venous problem!" Then to the shaving. Buzzzzz.

And then my nurse says to another, "I guess we can send that gorgeous husband of hers back now." Yeh, that's right! Send him on! And not long after, in comes Jason followed closely by his mom and dad. In no time at all it had seemed we were "On the Road Again." Pop Quiz: Who of my all time favorite singers made this song famous? Hint: It ain't Prince. Time's up. It was made famous my Mr. Willie Nelson. I love you, Willie!

So a kiss for the road and I'm feeling a little more at ease now than I had been since Stacy was there. THANK YOU STACY! YOU WERE WONDERFUL! Stacy and I go sooo far back having been in 4-H and showing horses together that she didn't even check my I.D. bracelet. Hope that didn't getcha in trouble, Stace. Anyways, knowing she'd be in there with me the entire time was really nice. Once there they tried repeatedly to cover me in heated blankets. "No, means, no!" Stacy finally put her foot down and informed everyone I didn't need one. Again, thank you, Stacy!

They commenced to prepping me. More shaving?! Monitors her and stickers there. Arm rests and head rests and tape. What's this? They actually taped my head down to the table. Stacy? Where was you for that one girl? Now that was plum weird. Neccessary, I suppose, but weird for sure. Then cover off, gown up and away we go . . . ahhhh, anybody gonna give me anything to help me relax? "We already have," answered the nice man nurse who moments earlier was taping my head to the table.

Had he done it himself? Was he sure? I remember thinking to myself, "Oh, shit!" I hope I hadn't said it out loud. Surely Stacy would have laughed if I had. Enter my hero doc. He says he'd gone thru everything we'd left with him and that there'd be a pinch. "Oh shit!" I'd thought again but remained silence aside from a wimper of pain. I so feared feeling the catheter pass thru my heart, but after my belly button I lost track of it until a crackling in my neck. A crackling with bright sparkly stars to be exact. It was as if I was in a cartoon.

Okay. After typing about the cartoon, I must admit, maybe they had given me a little something to relax me. A little. But, not enough. I was a big girl. Maybe a horse tranquilizer would be in order. Stacy? Where'd you go, girl? I need some drugs. Snap, crackle, pop. Stars danced before my open eyes. Pop, crackle, snap. Now that was weird, but I was afraid to close my eyes. Sure my head was taped down, but that wasn't gonna keep me from missing anything.

Next out of the doc was, "Can you make that darker?" I didn't answer assuming he was talking to one of the technicians. But, I couldn't help but wonder if he'd found something. An area not showing up as dark as it should've would indicate a flow problem. Yippee! If only my head had not been taped down or a catheter inside of me all the way up to my eyeballs, I would have jumped for joy. Seconds after this premature celebration he tells me he's going to go in again thru the veins to have a better look.

This is it. This is it. Praise God! This just has to be it. By golly, I'm gettin' LIBERATED today. The entrance this cath made was not as pleasant as the one before it. Ouch! But as I fought back tears of pain and joy, I endured thinking of Denise jumping and of running in the backyard with my boys. Any pain they had in store for me would suffer in comparison to the joy I would feel after. "Where's Jason?" I wondered. I wanted to share this with him. This just had to be it. We'd made it to the Emerald City! Or had we?

Educated Eggdicator (Revised edition) by Bigmamma

If this early morning’s goings-on is any indication of how the rest of my day will play out . . . be afraid! Be very afraid! I slept better than I had expected, but it was only after the 6:00 wake-up call that things began to go sour. Have I mentioned I’m not a morning person?

First things first – gotta let out the Gooch! Poor pup is in for a long day. Then breakfast. No! None for me thanks! I went to bed as full as a tick. Two of our nearest, dearest friends made the trek in to the Vern last night and we dined at Perico’s. Sort of a birthday and send off deal. I got an "Eye of the Tiger" card and some super sexy knee-high Converse socks. SUPER SEXY should be in caps, 'cause I love me some knee-high socks! I had a blast.

First dinner, which I loved. They even know what I want w/out asking. Perico’s is just that good! Yummmmm . . . then off to Penguin Pete’s for shaved ice. I love cherry shaved ice. Once home I got a card from Jason that reads, "A long time ago . . ." (open to star wars music) ". . . you were born!" Harsh, huh? Once home we celebrated via trampoline shenanigans. And then I stuffed in a huge piece of my chocolate birthday pie. Damn, it was good. I barely made it up the stairs. Surely I wouldn’t be hungry tomorrow.

Sidenote: That pie rocks Amelia! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You were worried about the crust being too dark but it is absolutely perfect, quite possibly, the best crust ever. Light and flaky. Mmmm. The same time she brought in the pie she came bearing gifts. Happy Birthday Eve to me. I got the pie, an all-time favorite movie of ours, “Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun,” and a gorgeous homemade card from her crew. And from grandma and grandpa a beautiful card and some cold hard $$$.

And from mom. Well, she needs a paragraph all her own. I got beans and cornbread!!! Yeah, me! (And look out everybody else. Ha!) And a huge bag full of goodies. I got a matching cotton capris outfit, 4 or five tops, and a sexy turquoise tank dress. And an adorable pink purse with matching pocketbook. I’ve got that with me today! And a lighthouse magnetic dishwasher cover and a set of lighthouse glasses. A tear-jerker card – and she says there’s more coming?! Geesh!

Then the morning of my big birthday, my sweetie was the first to wish me Happy Birthday! Then my boys, then my sis, and then I got the call I look most forward to every year – my grandpa! He has a voice that could melt ya! He sang to me and I LOVED IT! Then mom, grandma, mom-in-law, Angel, Aunt Ann and countless well-wishers via Facebook. And Uncle Scott even stopped by just in time to rescue Abel from the tree out front. THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!! I had a great day!

Now where was I? Oh, yes! Hungry! So I shower and dress so we have time to capture some BEFORE video just in case I should luck in to some Liberation today. First camera, fail. Second camera, couldn’t find the charger. What about the Blackberry? Fine. Upstairs and down. Guess what? He hadn’t been recording. And guess what else? I wasn’t going back up them steps! Period. I’d barely made it the first time and as I’ve said before, I try not to go back up ‘til bedtime.

Then the boys each have come aparts, as I’ve come to call ‘em, (Amelia has the copyright on this terminology). Brilliant, ain't it? To have a come apart is to throw a royal fit or tantrum. Then Jason has one too. We're all on edge. Poor Aunt Ann, I hate to leave you with 'em like this.

What? We're already in the parking lot? Jason must have driven like speed racer. I spent the entire ride blogging. Nothin' to do now but to give it to God. And off we go!

Single Life

Here's just a silly story about the single life to tide you over 'til my big day:

I love our new truck! The truck is awesome. We named him Burgess for a very, very special man in our lives. I drove him back from the doc's on Friday all by myself as Jason had to be in Evansville that night. I had the air going full blast, the radio on and besides my nerves all was right with the world. As earlier reported the weekend went well even though Jason worked most of it. From here it goes south, readers. Exit Jason.

That's when the truck decided to have a little fun. Maybe Maxitodium (my gorgeous inferno red 300 M that we bought brand new the year Asa was born - that he himself would later so oddly name), had talked him in to playing tricks on me. After all, she's been so neglected since I've grown ill. The poor dear, has been nothing but good to us. Now she just sits there in the driveway aging gracefully -as she's still a hottie! But she really does deserve a night out on the town every once in a while.

However things went down, the single life just ain't for me. Night #1: Uneventful yet successful once the boys quit fighting to sleep in my bed. Finally drifted off alone about midnight. It was tough getting up Monday morning. I'm sure I was a sight making my way downstairs - both arms full of something or the other, as I did not want to have to make my way back upstairs again before school.

Most mornings Jason makes the trip over and over whereas I don't see why I can't just load up and take everything I need. Surely if I can't carry it, I can throw it down the laundry shoot. Reminds me of the genius Steve Martin character in "The Jerk" as he left his house taking "just this chair . . ." Anyways, we all made it downstairs by 10 after 6. Pretty impressive, heh?

I get on Facebook as the morning routines play out and finish up early before me and, "Was that the bus, Asa?" We darn near missed it. Had it not been for bus #8 barreling at high speed down our street just ahead of our bus, we surely would have missed it. Wouldn't have been a problem really. I knew just where the truck keys were.

Next up, Abe would need taken to school. We pile in Burgess and get buckled up and all kind of warning dings and dongs and buzzers and horns start screaming at me just as I shift into Reverse. I look over at Abe distraught and say, "What in the world?" At the bottom of the drive braking to shift in Drive I look at the dash for a clue as to what my problem could be. Nothing.

The brief moment we'd spent in the middle of our street to ponder our potential problem must have been just long enough for Maxitodium to relay to Burgess that I'd had enough 'cause the dinging stopped as well. Welll, more like paused because as I began to accelerate the healthy hum of the engine became immediately masked again by a symphony of dingers.

In the short distance between my drive and the stop sign at the end of the road my dear son tells me in the sweetest of voices, "It doesn't do that when Dad drives." After checking that no one was behind me (not that it would have mattered), I came to an unheard of complete stop at that stop sign. I even shifted into Park.

Thoughts of who would be best to call to help me in this my time of need ran rampant thru my mind. It have to have been something I had done. The truck practically new and very well taken care of . . . what had I done? Please not the truck. I'd have been better off if I'd have burned the house down. I don't remember anything going wrong Friday, but in my defense I did have alot on my mind. Hmmmm.

Should I just drive on? School wasn't far and the truck, aside from screaming and dinging at me, was acting just fine. But my dad had told me never to drive a vehicle that was making an odd noise or had a warning light on 'cause you could just make things worse. Smart man I tell ya. Then it wasn't a light shining that got my attention, but a light going out that caught my eye. PARKING BRAKE? Huh? There is an incline to our driveway, but we don't ever use the parking brake. Do we?

I mean, my dad had showed me how and when to use one. In my Cavalier and in his old Ford truck, but both of those had been on the floor. Hmmm. I didn't even know where it was or how it had been engaged. Had to have been an accident so I had to rethink how I'd gotten in. Ahhh, yes, Abe got in first thru my door. I followed.

We had to have bumped it or pressed it or activated it as we climbed in. There it is. Well, the brake itself was self-explanatory but how to turn it off was another story. A pedal that needed pressing, it was not unlike the brake or gas pedals. Just higher up, smaller and to the left of the steering column. But it could not just be pulled back towards me to release it.

Keep in mind, I may sound like a moron but I am not!!! At least I haven't always been. I have Uncles that are mechanics and for your information I changed out the alternator in my first car with minimal support/guidance from my dad in the Wal-Mart parking lot. So there! The lights dimming, the power steering going out and the brakes failing made for a scary night. I'd never been so happy to arrive at Wal-Mart. Any who, where was I?

Ahhh, yes. Still in park at the stop sign, I checked my rearview again before fondling the underbelly of the dash searching for a release. I began to prefer the dinging to the deafening silence when Abel innocently asked, "Mom, are you sure you have your license?" You know what? I don't know! Ha! I may need to look into that.

Tell you what I do know now though . . . I found it. Tiny pull lever to release the brake. Thank you Unk. Thank you Dad. Thank you God! And my neighbor thanks you too. He looked mighty relieved waving to us from his mower, as we pulled away. Surely he wouldn't have minded helping me out. Telling me I'm stupid would've been the toughest part.

Whatever. We made it. The afternoon went fine. The night too once Asa got over missing his dog club meeting. With Raw on TV getting them in bed went even better than the night before. And then more alone time. Yipppppeeeeee. Not! Slept suprisingly well though. No complaints there.

Tuesday morning came fast. Arms full again we descended the stairs arriving in the living room by 6:20. Falling behind our record, I know. Fishville, breakfast, more Fishville, homework and the bus. Upon my return to the couch I found Abel and Gooch snuggled up and sleeping. So I caught up on episodes of Desperate Housewives I'd missed and finished off a bag of chocolate stars for breakfast.

When he woke we watched "Horton Hears a Who," did homework and had a turkey cheddar sub for lunch. Then we were off to what would surely to be a better traveling experience to school. We got in. No dinging. Key in ignition. No dinging. Turned key. No dinging. Press on brake and shift in to Reverse. No dinging. Gradually let foot off of brake to proceed down drive. BING, BING, DINGLE, LINGLE, LING!!! What?!

At this point I consider walking to school. Let us re-cap, shall we? Abe got in on his side and I was extra careful not to hit anything on my side. What could it be now? Maybe its not Burgess at all. Maybe it's Maxitodium's cry for attention. I push back down on the break to assess the situation from the driveway this time vs. the street. Still the dingers ding. Having learned just how helpful the light up warnings on the dash can be I adjust my bifocals and study these first.

Score! Abe had gotten in thru the passenger's door this time and as luck would have it the dash read: PASSENGER DOOR AJAR. Abey baby, are you sure you got your license? Easy fix. Abe unbuckles leaning out with two hands to really get some power behind closing his door this time. Wham! Contact. Problem solved and we are off.

Back in to Reverse and away we DING, DING, DING! Perfect attendence be damned! Maybe we should just stay home today. Thankfully this was another quick fix. As Abe sprung from his seat with both hands in the air, turning to me in utter disbelief it became clear to me that he had not been buckled up. Or re-buckled as it were. "Buckle up, Buttercup!"

Finally, we made it to school. We were even one place closer to the front of the line than we had been on Monday. Then safely home again, I paused a moment to admire the havoc Burgess had wreaked upon me. I knew Jason would enjoy hearing about it anyway. With my procedure date approaching and thus my anxiety over that growing wild, I suppose I should welcome diversion.

Then I depart the truck and just as I reach the threshold of the porch. THWACK! A low hanging branch of my favorite pink blooming tree smacks me square on the head! In an instant I had reached yet another threshold - this one of tolerance. It became very clear to me at this point ----> tomorrow I'm taking the 300.

Mother's Day

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the wonderful Moms, Mommas, Mas, Mothers, Mommies, Grandmothers, Grandmamas, Grandmas, Grannies, Grams, Grammies, Aunts, Sisters, and yes, even Sissies out there. I hope yours has been as grand a day as mine. May God continue to bless you as I'm sure he already has if you've ever been called any of the above names.

Mom, I love you soooo very much. I strive each day to be as good a mom as you. Anyone reading that knows the stunningly beautiful Mrs. Vickie Orth understands I have enormous shoes to fill. Sure it may be overdone and cliche but she truly has been and still today remains "The Wind Beneath My Wings." Wanna sing along with me now? My momma sure can! OXOXOX

And to my Grandma (who often times was mistaken for my Mom), I love you too. Mom truly learned from the best. I want to thank you for all you do. I love and appreciate you so much. And Amelia, well, I guess you are my favorite sister. I love you very much and think you are a wonderful Mommy. Keep up the good work and know even if I'm jealous of you at times I will ALWAYS have your back!

To all my aunts - Aunt June, Aunt Agnes, Aunt Ruth, Aunt Becky, and Aunt Angie, I love you guys too. Each of you in some way or another has played a role in the mother I've become. I mean each of my cousins have turned out stellar and I can't take all the credit for that. I'm sure their moms had a little something to do with it.

And to Janice who is of absolutely no relation, yet refers to herself as Aunt, I love you too, but growing up I always thought of you as Mom #2 or my other Mother. The six of us were inseperable. If your boys haven't told you today how much they love and appreciate you, I'm sure they do, but they're just silly boys.

And speakin' of silly boys . . . I couldn't have been blessed with my two yeah-whos without my wonderful husband Jason. And for this, and countless other things, I owe my Mother-In-Law, Mary. Sure we don't see eye to eye on everything, or get along 100% of the time, but what two people ever do? And so what if she nearly fell off the couch when she'd discovered Jason had proposed to me? We've come a long way baby, and I love you!

And to all of Mary's sisters who are now my Aunts as well, I love you all and thank you for everything you do. Both sides of Jason's family have been so welcoming and kind. The in-laws, outlaws, and cousins - I have so many in my mind. I've been blessed to be a part of your families and hopefully you've been blessed to be a part of mine. And speaking of blessings, I love and appreciate you too, Aunt Ann. I consider you another other Mother. And right about now I need all the mothers I can get.

I hope everyone has had a good day. I have. Jason was the first of my men to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. Then Abe, then Asa. We stayed home from church this morning fearing I might catch a bug before my procedure. Then I got a little alone time with Gooch as the men were off to buy me "the best that CVS had to offer," is I believe how Jason put it.

Jason may just be the best card picker outer in the world. Now as for my gift, well, its something I'd needed, but beauty upkeep hasn't exactly been too important to me lately. I'll say no more and leave it as that as I sit here typing on my real gift. hp rocks. Did I tell you about the life like butterfly that floats around on here? Huh? Well,I guess I just did. I love you baby! You rock harder than hp!

Then we took two of our Moms out for lunch at Perico's. Yummy! Jason paid for everybody as their gift. I should have thanked you, baby, but I'm just so used to you payin' for me. Don't know what I'd do if you didn't! Anyways, I got a card with a small gift inside from Mary and Kenny for my birthday. As if all the hard work house cleaning they'd done for me the day before had not been enough. Sweet, right? Well hold on to your socks, it just gets sappier!

I didn't ewww and ahhh over it at the time, BUT the small gift enclosed made me want to cry. Admittedly I'm a sucker for gifts of the home made persuasion. Mary had made me a pink bunny key chain. The note with it said, "May this bunny hop you right on to success!" O.K., so for those of you just joining us, WOW!

A rabbit's foot is supposed to be lucky, right? So I get a whole bunny. And I love pink. This bunny - pink! And "hop" me to success? Not sure but made me think of Denise's hopping video that I watch everyday now. Good one guys! Real good! Thank you both. I'm now bringing the bunny along with the lucky coin Kenny gave me yesterday. All that's missin' is my Dad's prayer cloth and I'll be rarin' to go.

As for all my loved ones still out there frantically shopping for that perfect birthday gift . . . good luck suckers! You've got a meaningful pink bunny to contend with. The gift bag that followed (also from the in-laws) had an adorable pair of capris and two gorgeous tank tops, but even they sufferedin comparison to the bunny!

The rest of the day I've snuggled with Gooch and hp. And relaxed. Thanks again, Mom-In-Law for watchin' the boys. This afternoon has been a nice relaxing break. My feet propped up, cold Pepsi nearby and a clean house to keep me cool. Snore on Gooch! What more could a girl ask for? Wellllll, besides LIBERATION?

I love you all and hope you've had a beautiful Sunday. However, if you haven't wished all the Mommas in your life a Happy Mother's Day . . . DO IT!

Huh?

Anyone for an update? Anyone? Anyone? Heeeelllllllllloooooo. Anyone out there? I had expected people to at least be wondering by now, so here it goes:

The anticipation. The Physician's Assistant. The Doc. The conversation. (Yes, Virginia, some doctors sit and actually converse with their patients. And witnessing and participating in this rare encounter was worth the hefty first time fee.) The juicy, creme-filled center. The conclusion. We are headed north!

Huh? Headed north to go to Disney World? That doesn't make any sense. Or does it? We may be stopping at Holiday World first - but, I have faith I'm on the right road to see Mickey. Ahhh, yes, maybe I should explain . . .

An old boyfriend of mine (who would later become my husband) questioned my navigation skills ONCE many, many years ago. I can confidently say he's never done so since as we are still happily married!

Anyways, having showed horses countless times in Kentucky and having received an 'A' in Geography I just knew traveling to Louisville from Indiana we'd have to go South. A long, crazy, romantic story - made short to spare you of the details - suffice it to say, his northeast theory won out. And we got in some major trouble [FUN], but I digress . . .

"So what happened was just this ~ the house began to twitch ~ the wind, to pitch ~ and suddenly the hinges started to unhitch, just then a witch ~ to satisfy an itch ~ came flying on her broomstick, thumbing for a hitch, and ooooohh, what happened then was rich . . ." No? I thought for a second I was on my way to Oz.

So one of two things has had to have happened. I only break out in song when I'm happy or delirious. And at this very moment I suppose I'm a little of both. Please allow me to begin that chorus again. What happened was just this . . . my head is still spinning and I'm not so sure of what had truly happened. Trying to update the masses and I'm not exactly sure how.

We'd gone in eager but expecting the usual brush off. I wasn't even sure when or if I was going to bring up CCSVI. Then the Physician's Assistant came in. Immediately we're put at ease as he informs me, "I see you are interested in testing for CCSVI." Yep. He was uber nice getting my MS diagnosis date and symptoms written down. Next, he gave me a brief neurological "can you touch your nose" exam. Of course, as per normal, I FAILED.

Then upon his exit he reassures us we are in the right place as the doc isn't just a neurosurgeon he's a neuro radiologist. Hmmmm. Maybe we were in the right place. Silence ensues. And then tears. Jason threatens, "Don't you do it! If you do it, I may do it." And rightly so there was no golden ticket in hand - yet! The following minutes felt like hours. The hope I'd struggled to mask was becoming impossible to fight. Deep breathing. In. Out.

Enter the doctor. Introductions. And he doesn't really believe in this theory, BUT he's willing to give things a look. WHOA, NELLY! That's waaaaay further than I thought I'd get. He even discussed with us how to best look for these potential stenoses. The conclusion reached wasn't exactly what we'd been fishing for, but I still think it's a keeper. We've come full circle my friends. The conclusion brings us back around to the 'traveling' analogy.

After meeting with the doc's procedure scheduler, the blood hungry inhabitants one floor down, and a pre-admissions nurse for lengthy questioning Jason and I left my 10:00 appointment with just minutes to spare before 1:00. What a day! Once in the truck I look to my loving husband for his wise words. Bewildered he responds, "You realize you can't get hot water from a cold water line?" Hmmmm, indeed.

So what if the doc doesn't want to go in thru my veins? Well, Jason informed me you can't fix a vein if you are in an artery. Makes sense. But the doc knows what we are hoping to find and although he is confident he won't find it I must trust he knows where the jugulars and azygous are located. Even I am now well schooled in their locations. Thank you internet!

Thus, we can still make it to Disney from here even if we go north to Holiday World first. This doc has done his research, as have I. This doc expects to find nothing, BUT he's intrigued enough to look. And for that I am happy. Ecstatic even. So why not show it? Remember my singing?

Enter delirium. I am delirious from the utter exhaustion brought on by yesterday and the trying days of anticipation and hope suppression that came before it. Alas, I'm comin' for ya Mickey. So what if I go north first? I may even stop by Kings Island, Six Flags, Pigeon Forge or the beach on the way. But, I will get there. And you'd better be open, 'cause I WILL get in. Ain't that right, Mr. Griswold?

So I'm not cancelling my place in any of the long overseas lines I'm in, but I'm a little more optimistic today than I was the day before. We may have acquired a new co-pilot in our drive to LIBERATION. We've added God and a doc to our entourage. Join us, won't you? Buckle up, here we go!

3, 2, 1 hour 'til

It's 8 o'clock on this beautiful Friday morning. I sit here exhausted, yet still I suffer from what is sure to be unwarranted anxiety. I take a deep breath in. And out. I can hear birds chirping in between Gooch's snore bouncing off his cage walls. He was let out early this morning in preparation of our departure thus he's already busied himself with his morning nap. LAZY DOG! I love him so!

Abel sits next to me dressed and ready to go - as he has been since 7 this morning. He just had to go to Subway with his dad and big bro this morning. The plan had been that we would all leave together for breakfast before dropping Asa at school and Abel at Granny and Papa's. Then we would be off to the docs. I was a mess this morning and alas, plans didn't go as expected. Or had they?

Dragging my feet, both figuratively and literally, Jason decided for Asa to get a hot breakfast they would have to leave without us. Us who? Abe had been ready before anyone else and standing by the front door - backpack in hand. So he left with them and Jason was to return after dropping Asa at school to get me. Fine.

Upon their return at 7:45 I was found feet up on the couch playing Dr. Mario to calm my nerves. I don't know what it is about organizing mass quantities of pills together that is so relaxing, but it always seems to do the trick. I only wish Dr. Mario did venoplasty. I'll have to look into that.

A bit distraught I was not at the door ready to go as Abe had been moments before - I asked why it was we were leaving so darned early? He looks at me, then at the clock atop the mantle, then back at me, then at the clock, then back at me, then at the clock . . . no! Only kidding, but he did look once at the clock and said quite clearly, "I don't know." I then suggested he go to work for a while. He seemed overjoyed practically running to his truck.

Discovering he was getting to stay awhile longer Abel celebrated by kicking off his shoes and socks. First a little Wii time while I catch up on Facebook and then on to "snot flicking" with Drop Dead Fred. "She killed me with the death breath!" We've only seen this movie about a zillion times since introducing it, what? A couple days ago? I know it was just this week. It's absolutely a must see! "Cobwebs!"

So here I sit. An hour to kill 'til we leave for the neurosurgeon. Prolly look at us and say, "what are you here for?" And what will I reply? Both my GP and my neuro referred me. Lies are out of the question. How should one reply? I'm here to get my jugular cleaned out. I'm here for testing of a vascular problem, Mr. Neurosurgeon. I'm here for tickets to Disney World.

Let it snow!

Ever get so hot your eyeballs sweat? Mine are. I'm sitting here with my air on full blast yet I'm on fire. No temp and I don't even feel warm to touch. Yet I watch the Pepsi next to me sit full of ice and wonder if when I reach for it will it melt from the touch of my hand. Not just the ice spontaneously melt to water - but the plastic cup wither and shrivel from the heat as well?

I don't exaggerate when I say that even my hair is hot. Remember the 98 degree days in July prepping the barn for the fair? Now add insulated underwear, 3 or 4 layers of thick warm clothes, jackets, coats, and coveralls. Ski mask, sock caps, four pairs of gloves, 10 or 12 pairs of wooly socks, lined boots and a Snuggy for fashions sake. Now shovel that sawdust. Hot?

No, I'm not sweating, as I'm sure I would be in that scenario, BUT I am hot. May 4th and already I'm hot?! I can't function like this. I'm stuggling to make sense when I speak. I hope this even makes sense. Lucky I got all my paperwork filled out yesterday to see my new doc. Today would have been no good for that. Touching the paper would have caused it to catch fire. And the plastic casing around the pen would have melted causing ink to spill on the open flame below.

Again with the sweating eyes. I can barely see to type. No amount of tears will put the fire that is me out. I'm off to a cold shower and a nap, friends. Think nice cool, snow and ice-filled thoughts for me. 67 in here? That just can't be right. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow . . .
